NFAA Race Format
Qualifying Process
Each competitor must complete all allocated qualifying rounds.
In the event of sitting out, a 15 second penalty is issued for that slot.
The final qualifying time is taken as an average of all completed qualifiers with the option to drop your highest ET when there have been 3 or more qualifying rounds, or drop your highest 2 ET’s when there have been 5 or more qualifying rounds.
A standard NFAA weekend will consist of 3 qualifying passes,
in the event of extra qualifying sessions please refer to below:
1 qualifying session - 1 to count
2 qualifying sessions – 2 to count
3 qualifying sessions – 2 to count
4 qualifying sessions – 3 to count
5 qualifying sessions – 3 to count
Finals Process
The top 4 qualifiers will face off in one final round, to decide the top four positions. Number 4 qualifier races number 3, then number 2 qualifier races number 1. In the event of a no show, the next position qualifier becomes 1st alternate until there are 4 cars ready to race the finals. Alternates race for exhibition and event prize money only, not points.
Best Appearing Car/Crew
This will no longer form part of the point structure, but will be a closed ballot/vote at the end of the year to award a trophy.
Championship Points Tie Situation
In the unlikely event that this should this happen, final position falls to the number of event wins.
