NFAA Meeting

The NFAA held a meeting on the 19th November to discuss the upcoming 2012 season. Our thanks to Santa Pod for the use of their facilities to conduct our class review.

Most Teams sent delegates, so the class was well represented. Subjects under discussion included rule changes, costs in these recessionary times, commitments for future events, prize monies, event schedules and race locations.

The discussions resulted in near unanimous agreement to the following:

Rule Changes:

None for 2012 – Class Rules are in the Car & Bike RAC/MSA Yearbook for 2012, which are as detailed in the 2011 Yearbook.

Costs:

As a recognition of the costs of racing felt by all in 2011, it was decided that the NFAA would run as a Class at only 4 events in 2012. If Teams wished to run at other events/venues, they are entitled to do so. However, it was pointed out that in the event of damages preventing them from fulfilling their commitment to the NFAA schedule, they would not be able to accumulate enough points and so put at risk to earn any year-end prize money for that Team.

Commitments:

All present endorsed the continuation of the Class with possible new entrants for 2012 and most agreed that they would make all efforts to attend the 4 scheduled events.

Prize Fund:

Each event will count towards the Championship, for which a prize fund for the Winner and Runner-Up will be available after the final event.

2012 Schedule & Race Location:

The Auto Trader Easter Thunderball 6-9th April Santa Pod

Summer Nationals 22-24th June Santa Pod
(Note that this event will be run in the Elimination format, all other events will be in the NFAA format as per previous years)

Dragstalgia 14-15th July Santa Pod

VP Racing Fuels National Finals 22-23rd September Santa Pod

Matt Glassup will continue coordinate the website, www.nfaa.co.uk and Lawrie Gatehouse will assist with class organisation matters.

We all wish one another safe and enjoyable racing in 2012, with crowd pleasing performances from the ’Wild, Wild, Fuel Altereds’.

Lawrie and Matt.
