Sumthin' Fancy

Well it’s been nearly a month since the NFAA held their 2010 Trophy presentation and dinner dance at the Ettington Chase hotel in Stratford Upon Avon, and my how that time has flown by! I thought it best to recap the evening for those that couldn’t manage to attend the event, and say a couple of thanks where they were due.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who came and supported the class for the evening, there were lots of cheers, claps and sounds of support over the course of short & sweet presentation and I think it said a lot to have such an enthusiastic group together to reflect on what had undoubtedly been a difficult year for the class.

Roy Phelps was kind enough to hand out the beautiful glass awards to our winners, while the championship trophies themselves were sponsored by the generous guys at J&W Automotive www.jwautomotive.co.uk (Richard Walters & Lee Johnstone) , and Pete Walters Race Designs (Pete Walters) www.pwrd.co.uk
Check out the pics which will be on our NFAA site to see the lovely keepsakes. www.xtremewheelsracing.com was kind enough to sponsor the best appearing car and best appearing crew trophies which were voted for on the night by ballot. Thanks so much guys!

Bob Glassup and the Xtreme team came runner up for the 2010 season with 3rd place.
The Wratten brothers took 2nd but were unable to attend the evening to collect the trophy.
Joe Bond was presented with his well-deserved 1st place trophy, congratulations to you and the whole Nuthin Fancy team on your first NFAA championship!

While the votes were extremely tight for the best appearing car and best appearing crew, one team managed to scoop both and boy were they chuffed. Adam Gleadow and the Motor Psycho team took the trophies home and I think it’s safe to say they received a fairly healthy roar of approval when the results were in – well done guys!

The venue was excellent and I think they did a fantastic job of meeting all our needs, while also sorting the NFAA dinner dance attendees with an great rate for accommodation with some great on site facilities. As the teams work hard to get cars ready for 2011 I would like to wish everyone the best of luck with their pre season prep and we look forward to a successful meeting at Easter. Thanks to both Santa Pod & Shakespeare County Raceway for their continued support. I would also like to say thanks to Leah Hinchliffe who helped with the score keeping and class organisation in 2010 while I was busy working on our Xtreme altered, it was massively appreciated!
